A twist on the classic “He Loves Me – He Loves Me Not,” this piece springs from the fear one feels when discovering that the boy or man you have been dreaming about loves you. The borders are drawn thread with satin-stitched corners. The purple flowers are lazy daisies with blanket stitches going around the loops. The red flowers are lazy daisies. This piece is perfect for beginners in drawn thread work. The pattern assumes a familiarity with charted designs and counted cross-stitch. Stitched with hand-dyed silks, no backstitching is required. Many thanks to Susan Duke for stitching the model; it is on 28-count white Lugana using silk floss hand-dyed by Vikki Clayton. These silks are no longer available; the piece will look equally good in any two compatible variegated flosses.
